AgroFossilFree partners met virtually on the 25th May 2021 to conduct the 2nd plenary meeting of the project. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress on the first 6 months of the project and the planning of upcoming activities.

The plenary session, led by the project coordinator CERTH/IBO, was attended by all project partners. During the session, WP leaders reported on the progress of their respective areas and announced the next steps for the coming period. Iniciativas Innovadoras, project leader of WP5, presented what have been done for the communication and dissemination of project activities and for raising awareness about the importance of de-fossilizing the agricultural sector.

In addition, the plenary session counted with the special contribution of Guido Giudetti, project officer of the EC, which acknowledged the great work, efforts and coordination of the consortium so far. Guillermo Zaragoza (CIEMAT), member of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of the project and expert in the field of renewables energies and precision agriculture, was also presented in the meeting. The task of this International Advisory Board will be to advise and ensure that the project’s results match stakeholders’ needs.

Finally, we had the opportunity to listen to the members of the Fossil Free Energy Cluster, who briefly presented their respective projects of interest to the AgroFossilFree partners: RES4LIVE, RENAISSANCE, THEGREEFA and HyPErFarm.

Thanos Balafoutis, project coordinator, concluded the meeting by acknowledging participants and encouraging them to keep up the good work.
